Your career background:
I started coaching after graduating from university after studying sports science and coaching studies. I shadowed coaches at Sweeney’s Multi Sport, which allowed me to grow my knowledge and coaching opportunities. I have also worked with a local grassroots football team. I currently work full time with Pro Sport Coaching.
Why did you want to go into sports coaching?
I want to be involved in sports coaching to be able to try and develop children’s sporting ability, confidence and self-esteem, within a sporting environment with the hopes they take the positive outcomes with them in the other aspects of their lives. While also growing as a individual both in a sporting context and general.
What are your interests outside of work?
My Interests outside of work are very sports based such as I often play football on a Saturday afternoon, when I get the opportunity I also like to try and go and watch Accrington Stanley play. Outside of sports i enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
What are you passionate about?
One of my passions is to see children enjoying their sporting experiences while also working towards achieving their own full potential within various sports.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
The best part of coaching for me is seeing the children’s self confidence their own ability improving as they accomplish various tasks they struggled with before and seeing their faces light up when they realise they can do it.
