Your career background:
I started coaching in the summer of 2013 just before I started studying Sports Coaching at university. Shortly after I joined the coaching team of a local grassroots club, which I still keep in contact with, I loved it and learnt a lot quickly. Later on I began working with Damian in primary schools which was a great experience. I moved onto working full time at a primary school and then a few years later joined the team at Pro Sport Coaching and have done so many different things in my time with us, it has been fantastic and we have lots of things to look forward to!
Why did you want to go into sports coaching?
Having loved playing sports for as long as I can remember, I was passionate about teaching children skills so that they can develop their own pathway, whether that be enjoying sports or wanting to go as far as they can in their chosen sports. When you see someone develop a new skill or they reach a target that they have set for themselves, as a coach it is a brilliant feeling – I don’t think there’s many better things.
What are your interests outside of work?
I love going for walks when the weather is nice, finding a nice picturesque view!
Sometimes I dust off my football boots and play football in an evening
I’m usually on the hunt to watch something binge-worthy on Netflix
What are you passionate about?
This might sounds a bit cheesy, but it’s Brie!
What is the favourite thing about your job?
Seeing children learning new skills with a smile on their face!
